-MULTIMEDIA PLAYBACK must be installed and working properly, on your system,  prior to installing or using this software. 

-The VCR2 CODEC requires an MMX CPU.

-If you experience problems with this software, UN-INSTALL this package.

A) DESCRIPTION

ATI hardware products are NOT required to use the software included in this package.

The software included in this package is intended to allow playback of AVI files which were originally captured using the ATI VIDEO PLAYER, on other systems. 

The software included in this package is intended SPECIFICALLY for systems that; 
DO NOT have an ATI display adapters with VIDEO CAPTURE capabilities, OR
DO NOT have the ATI VIDEO PLAYER installed.

B) SYSTEM and SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS

- PENTIUM class computer system. An MMX CPU is REQUIRED to use the VCR2 CODEC.

- Windows 95 or Windows 98 multimedia AUDIO and VIDEO playback capability. (MULTIMEDIA support is included with Windows 95 and Windows 98.)

NOTE: The VCR2 CODEC requires an MMX CPU.
NOTE: ATI hardware is NOT required for playback.
NOTE: MULTIMEDIA PLAYBACK must be installed and working properly.

D) INSTALLATION

To install this software simply RUN VCR2.EXE and follow the prompts.

This package adds the following lines to the [drivers] and [drivers32] sections of the SYSTEM.INI file.

VIDC.VYUY=ATIVYUY.DLL
VIDC.YV12=ATIYUV12.DLL
VIDC.YVU9=IYVU9.DLL

[drivers32]
VIDC.YVU9=ATIYVU9.DLL
VIDC.VCR2=ATIVCR2.DLL

E) TESTING

NOTE: AN MMX processor is required to support the VCR2 CODEC!

NOTE: ONLY the VCR1 and VCR2 clips contain AUDIO. The other clips do NOT have AUDIO.

After installing this software you can test VCR1 or VCR2 PLAYBACK as follows;

1) Click the START button and under PROGRAMS select the "ATI PLAYBACK CODECS-vcr2" program group.

2) If you have an MMX CPU, select "TESTVCR2" in the "ATI PLAYBACK CODECS-vcr2" program group.

3) For NON MMX systems select, "TESTVCR1" in the "ATI PLAYBACK CODECS-vcr2" program group.

4) You may test the other ATI PLAYBACK CODECs by selecting the appropriate item in the "ATI PLAYBACK CODECS-vcr2" program group.

F) UN-INSTALLING

To UN-INSTALL this software; 

1) Click the START button and under PROGRAMS select the ATI VCR2 program group.

2) Select "UNINSTALL" in the "ATI PLAYBACK CODECS-vcr2" program group.
