Enabling postprocessing makes pciture quality worse instead of better file needed : postprocessing_artifacts.avi tested with : mplayer v1.0pre2 and v1.0pre3 PC : - Intel P4 2.8 GHz / 512MB / S3 - Intel P3 550MHz / 512MB / Matrox G550 OS : windows XP (mingw compilation) and linux file specific: no, happens with any movie symptoms : when enabling postprocessing things get worse description : -first (very important) turn up the brightness & contrast of your monitor ALL THE WAY! -play the postprocessing.avi with mplayer like this: mplayer -vop pp -autoq 6 postprocessing_artifacts.avi or mplayer -vop pp=hb:a/vb:a/dr/al postprocessing_artifacts.avi -you first see the intro of 'paramount a via com company' -next you see a small horizontal line with below the text 'paramount pictures presents' -now when the line unfolds and becomes a bigger block watch the black area right/down to the 'paramount pictures presents' -you'll notice moving artifacts which are slightly grayish play the same file without any postprocessing and the artifacts are not there anymore csharprules@hotmail.com Frodo
